Normal libraries lend out books. Tool libraries lend out tools. Why not a board game library?
Board games are a fantastic way to spend time with friends and family, but the cost of board games can be prohibitive, especially when you don’t know if you’re going to enjoy that specific game.
Edinburgh Board Game Library allows members to borrow board games to take and try at home for a small annual fee.
Through this model, we hope to:
• Increase access to board games regardless of income
• Introduce board games to new audiences
• Allow people to try board games before they decide to buy them
• Normalise sharing as a step towards a circular economy
